Students are up for the Counts

Middle-school mathletes flexed the arithmetic muscles Saturday at Sauk Valley Community College for the MathCounts competition. The program consists of written tests and fast-paced verbal matches. Sixty students in grades six through eight from St. Mary School in Dixon, St. Mary’s School in Sterling, Byron and Rochelle middle schools, St. Anne School in Dixon, Morrison Junior High School, and Christ Lutheran School in Sterling competed in the local competition of the national program.
